A.B. Pratt

A.B. Pratt
Brookville, Indiana circa 1830-1840
A.B. Pratt was a silversmith and jeweler who worked in Brookville (Franklin County). The Indiana American (Brookville) of April 20, 1837, announced the partnership A.B. Pratt and Jacob Reinemann in the "Silversmiths and Jewelry Business.” That partnership lasted for only a year, and Reinemann was advertising alone in June of 1837. Apparently A.B. Pratt remained in Brookville, for his name appears on the Federal Census for Franklin County for the year 1840. Spoons found in the area and marked "PRATT" are believed to be the work of A B Pratt.
